Today, new energy efficient windows were installed in the USR Firehouse. The department purchased the windows using funds collected from our annual fund drive donations and contributions from local organizations. Labor to install the windows was donated by local renovation contractor Castle Builders, owned by USRFD firefighter Greg Andrews. Tomorrow, window trim will be installed. Next, bay lighting will be upgraded and ceiling and walls painted. Many thanks to Greg at Castle Builders! The USR firehouse is owned by the fire department, not by the town like in most Bergen County municipalities. So a large portion of fund drive donations collected goes to the upkeep of the building as well as capital expenditures like windows, furnace upgrade, bay floor refinishing, hall upgrades, painting etc. Interested in donating to the USRFD?
